the
School of Doctoral Studies
The School
of Doctoral Studies of Università Iuav di Venezia was established in
2007/2008 a.y. as a result of the aggregation of some of the most
long-established Italian PhD programmes in the fields of architecture, design and
urban planning.
Over the
years, the School has produced an unparalleled number of lecturers and
researchers working in Italian and international universities and research
institutes.
Further
subject areas and research fields have been added over time, thus enriching the
PhD programme and making interdisciplinarity the School’s
trademark.
The
director of the School of Doctoral studies is Maria
Chiara Tosi.
The
governing body of the School of Doctoral Studies is the Board, consisting
of the director and the professors of the various tracks plus 2 representatives
of PhD students.
The
Board is responsible for managing the School, developing guidelines, planning common
activities, the annual distribution of available study grants, as well as
defining new discipline areas towards which activities may be directed.
Phd
activities are carried out mainly at Palazzo Badoer
where administrative offices are located as well.
