The international network “Designing Heritage Tourism Landscapes” is participated by 20 schools of architecture which have decided to co-conduct an educational and research program on the topic of landscape and heritage tourism.

The network aims at:

It is known that tourism is one of the most valuable assets of the world economy, and the third largest European socio-economic sector of activity. Heritage tourism, in particular, unlike other forms of tourism, tends to grow even in times of economic recession. However, despite the importance of such data and although some sectors of social, geographic, and economic sciences have been focusing on tourism for decades, the architectural studies that fully address this phenomenon are still relatively few.
Ultimately, the network aims at coping with the study of interrelations between heritage tourism and architectural design at different scales.
