11th International U&U PhD seminar
Grounding the Transition in Urbanism and Urbanization.
An Atlas Between Complexity and Contradiction
Badoer, aula Tafuri
After successful editions in Leuven, Venice, Barcelona, Paris, Delft, Lausanne, Ghent, and Lille, the 11th edition of Urbanism&Urbanisation International PhD seminar will be hosted in Venice, Italy.
Like previous editions, the seminar seeks to bring together students writing their PhD thesis in urbanism and working within very different disciplinary traditions, combining historical, design, and other forms of urban research. The community supporting this seminar series over the years shares an interest in work that tries to speak across the divide between urban studies and the city-making disciplines.
The aim is to combine the interpretation of urbanisation processes with the commitment and care for the urban condition in all its manifold manifestations and bring together urban theory and the theoretical grounding of urbanism with innovative practice.
