Soil Rhythms and the Pulse of the City

Soil Workshop

Speakers’ Corner – Arsenale, Venice Architecture Biennale

Open to Iuav students regularly enrolled for the 2025/2026 academic year in the master's degree programs in Architettura, Architecture, Urbanistica e Pianificazione del Territorio, Urban Planning for transitino, Design, Arti visive.

The cities of Amsterdam and Venice share a unique relationship with water; both are built on and surrounded by water. The interaction between urban development and waterbeds raises urgent questions about sustainability, preservation, and future-proofing. In this framework and hosted by Venice Biennale, an interdisciplinary workshop open to students is organised, relying on Amsterdam’s expertise on soil and water quality, with example projects such as BiodiverCITY and the Academic Workshop Soil, to explore, visualize, and contribute to potential measures for the waterbed of the Venice Lagoon.

To participate send a short cv to: amarcon@iuav.it.

Registration for the workshop is now closed.
