MI Moda Indigena collective

Seminar & body-painting workshop

Reby Munduruku and Sandra de Oliveira Cunha present MI Moda Indígena, a collective they founded in 2015 in Brazil. The project promotes Brazilian Indigenous women’s craftsmanship and manual work as a political tool to raise awareness about the environmental and sociocultural challenges of the Amazon. It fosters professional development and access to employment through fashion design courses, while also preserving Amazonian ancestral heritage, both cultural and material.

Sandra, Indigenous leader (cacique) of the Munduruku people of the Terra Preta village in the state of Pará, is artisan, fashion designer and activist. Reby, with experience in literature, theater, and performance, belongs to the Munduruku of Alto Tapajós and the Mura peoples.
