In close connection with the region’s economic–productive system, this degree responds to the demand for qualified designers ready to enter the world of businesses and institutions. Designers able to design products and product systems in today’s phase of profound and rapid cultural, technological, and market change. Designers capable of addressing fundamental issues for the future of production and consumption such as sustainability, digitalisation, and design for the circular economy.

The three-year programme offers multidisciplinary training in product design, built on courses in the areas of design, representation, the humanities, sciences, technology, and socio-economics. Learning activities combine design studios and lectures, company workshops, seminars, and cultural initiatives.
Across courses, studios and workshops you will develop projects under the guidance of leading professionals at national and international level.
In the third year you will have the opportunity to undertake an internship, applying the skills needed to tackle design processes within a work team.

After graduation, you can choose among various professional roles focused on the design of products or product–service systems, working in companies and institutions, technical and R&D offices, manufacturing firms, as well as in design and consulting studios operating in the field of product, system, and service design. You will be able to manage an entire design process in a team or independently: from understanding the different phases of industrial processes to developing and producing a product or product/service on a large scale.
