Luoghi ibridi dell'autoorganizzazione sociale. Esperienze alla scala italiana e europea

Cities and regions
have often neglected and underused resources.
They are marginal
places, generally located in peripheral urban and rural areas.
Today, this trend
seems to be reversed by examples of social self-organization that regenerate
these resources, creating centers of creativity and innovation.
In Italy and other
European countries, a radical change is taking place in asset management. There
are new forms of entrepreneurial models aimed at creating social benefits, new
economies and cultural activities.
At a regional and
municipal level, many innovative regeneration policies and projects have been
promoted to foster new forms of social entrepreneurship.
The “Bollenti Spiriti” and “Boom-Polmoni Urbani” programs in Italy, and the “Plan Director” of Valle Salado de Aņana in Spain are emblematic examples of asset
management at the European level. They promote the development of social
enterprises and foster territorial innovation.
This visiting
professorship project, therefore, aims to promote teaching and research
activities aimed at exploring these hybrid places in Italy and other European
countries, their entrepreneurial models and effects on the territory.
The project will be
developed through the following parts:
Scientific research.
Research will be
undertaken in Italy to analyze and compare these hybrid places of social self-organization.
Qualitative and quantitative research methods will be adopted, with exploratory
and dialogic surveys, and semi-structured and unstructured interviews. The
research will show how new models of entrepreneurship regenerate neglected and
underused resources and create new value.
The research will be
disseminated through publications and the organization of seminars.
Teaching activities.
Teaching activities concerning
"Hybrid places of social self-organization in Italy and Europe". The
aim of these lectures is to provide students with the tools, knowledge, and
skills necessary to recognize the value of resources, and design paths of innovation
and sustainability. Teaching will be structured in lectures, interactive
exercises and debates. The lessons will be developed with a metacognitive
teaching methodology aimed at triggering students' curiosity and critical
thinking. The topics of underused assets and their regeneration as an
opportunity to create positive impacts on the asset and the territory will be
addressed. This will be followed by an analysis of the types of social self-organization
models. The regenerated assets, the managerial structure, the forms of
financing obtained and the impact on the territory will be analyzed. During the
lectures, students will be invited to brainstorm on the issues addressed and to
carry out exercises of observation, representation and presentation of the
analyses carried out. Students will be invited to select a case study,
highlighting the characteristics of the entity managing the asset, its organizational
structure, the activities and the impact on the territory.
