The monitoring mission to some of the leading universities in South Korea and Japan, organised by the Università Iuav di Venezia as part of its international cooperation and academic exchange activities, has been completed recently with great success.

The delegation, composed of Maria Gatto, Head of International Mobility Services, and her colleagues Paola De Rossi and Fabio Moretti, visited prestigious universities such as Sungkyunkwan University and Myongji University in Seoul, Waseda University and Kogakuin University in Tokyo, and Kyoto Institute of Technology, with the aim of monitoring the development of the current project funded by European Union TNE23  LEGO Italy-East Asia Cooperation: from Local Expertise to a Global Outlook.

The mission therefore made it possible to verify the progress of student and teacher mobility envisaged by the project in question, but also to consolidate bilateral relations, explore new areas of collaboration and promote joint initiatives in the key sectors of Iuav, namely architecture, restoration, urban planning, design, sustainability and renewable energy.

During the mission, the delegation was also welcomed at the Italian Embassy in Seoul, where a fruitful meeting was held with the Ambassador Emilia Gatto, and at the Italian Cultural Institute in Tokyo, in the presence of the Cultural Attaché Silvana De Maio. The meetings provided an opportunity to discuss common strategies aimed at enhancing Italy's academic presence in East Asia and promoting the mobility of students and researchers.

The success of the visit confirms the commitment of the Università Iuav di Venezia to strengthening its international presence and supporting a model of academic cooperation based on innovation, quality of mobility and the sharing of best practices.
