The following categories of external users are entitled to library registration and may use library services, including borrowing services:

• retired academic and technical and administrative staff of the Iuav University of Venice;
• PhD candidates enrolled in inter-university programmes;
• participants in projects under agreements with Iuav;
• students, PhD candidates and academic staff of Venice International University (VIU);
• students, PhD candidates and academic staff of the Academy of Fine Arts of Venice;
• institutional users of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, the University of Padua, and other universities in the Veneto region (students, PhD candidates, academic and technical and administrative staff);
• academic staff of other Italian universities

Registration can be completed at the library by presenting a valid ID card or passport and, where applicable, proof of affiliation with the relevant institution (e.g. a university ID card).

For professional, study, or research needs, other users may also be admitted if they live in Venice (city or province). Admission is subject to prior approval by the Head of Library Services, requested by email (infobiblioteca@iuav.it).
