studying visual arts in Venice
For those who choose to study
visual arts the location is most important.
Iuav
offers a unique method and study track in the visual arts in Italy, with a constant
interaction between theory and practice.
Students
are introduced to media techniques and the language of visual culture and can
create their first personal artwork under the guidance of high-level lecturers
and professionals.
At
the end of the three-year study programme, students can start working in the arts,
media, and communications or continue their studies with a master's degree to develop their artistic talent and curatorial organisational skills at the same time.
Internationally
renowned theorists, lecturers, professionals and artists are among the
lecturers of the multimedia arts track.
Active collaborations include the Venice
Biennale, the Turin Triennale, Palazzo Grassi, Fondazione Spinola Banna,
Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa, Castello di Rivoli and international art exhibitions such as Documenta and Manifesta.
the multimedia arts track
The
multimedia arts track aims to provide a structured foundation for those who want to
work in the visual arts sector.
This
track enables students to acquire theoretical and technical skills in the
visual arts, multimedia and cinema.
At
the end of the three-year programme, students can work as collaborators in the production or
organisation of artistic and cultural activities or else continue their studies
by attending master's degree courses or postgraduate specialisation programmes
in Italy or abroad.
The theoretical
courses
provide the tools for understanding and assessing contemporary cultural
industry productions.
The
workshops, taught by renowned Italian and international professionals and
artists, aim at creating personal or collective works, thus shaping graduates
who can combine knowledge and know-how, both as individuals and as part of a
team.
Each
workshop has dedicated locations for its entire duration, and supporting labs
(photography, multimedia and modelling) are also available to develop the students'
projects.
