studying fashion in Venice
Università
Iuav di Venezia is one of the leading universities in
Europe for training fashion designers and fashion studies.
The
bachelor’s and master’s degrees in fashion aim at excellence
by training designers capable of tracing an original path towards the
definition of an Italian fashion school, inclusive and open to global
exchange.
Iuav students
and graduating students are recruited by various companies, their works are
often featured in specialist journals and receive mentions and awards.
The
bachelor’s degree in fashion design and multimedia arts combines experimental
character with analytical and design methodologies with a focus on material
culture. It deals with creative processes and products while establishing a
close dialogue between artistic research and design practice. It complements
the concept of technological innovation by extending it to the themes of the body,
identity, and memory in contemporary visual and design culture.
This bachelor’s
degree identifies with the production, design, industrial and consumer systems
of art and fashion, with a specific interest in the Made-in-Italy sector.
the fashion communication and new media track
The fashion
communication and new media track focuses on issues related to the communicative,
curatorial and more directly immaterial design aspects that define
the new forms of fashion and its visual culture.
This track combines
practical and theoretical aspects, addressing fashion communication in
relation to cultural studies and visual culture with a focus on image making
and graphics, print and online publishing, data visualisation processes, retail
design, and archive-related practices in conservation, imagination, and design.
The study programme includes an internship period in companies, art
direction studios, publishing platforms or cultural institutions.
careers
The
professional roles of graduates are junior profiles related to editors,
