The Undergraduate Degree Programme in Fashion Design aims to form designers that are able to conceive, design, and create a collection of clothes and accessories

The Undergraduate Degree Programme in Fashion Design aims to form designers that are able to conceive, design, and create a collection of clothes and accessories. Students will have the chance to learn and work in direct contact with the excellent artisans, technicians, and industries that make the Italian "fashion system" so well-renowned. During the three-year period students will be able to shape a collection, through the study and research of materials and by working with professional designers actively working in the fashion business.

End-of-year shows and exhibitions will be a great opportunity for students to display their projects. Finally, the 400-hour compulsory internship within a production and service company, in Italy or abroad, also has a decisive effect on student education.

Businesses, Companies, and Firms

Students have collaborated with firms and institutions like Armani, Balenciaga, Ballin, Barena, Bonotto, Bottega Veneta, Andrea Cammarosano, Judith Clark Costume Gallery, Gruppo Coin, Giles Deacon, Fondazione Gianfranco Ferré, Leitmotiv, Les Copains, Mary Katrantzou, L’Officiel Italia, Marni, Marvielab, Mode Museum Anversa, Moncler, Oviesse, Pier, Archivio Rubelli, Safilo, Proenza Schouler, Raf Simons, Staff International, Lucio Vanotti, Victoria and Albert Museum Londra.

Professional profile

At the end of the three-year programme, graduates may work as designers in fashion and style offices, as event designers, as collaborator in the artistic direction of fashion brands, in the design and development of collections, in fashion publishing houses and communication offices, and in fashion museums and galleries.

Many top production companies have asked to collaborate with Iuav students and undergraduates; and many projects by Iuav students have been published in professional magazines and have received numerous acknowledgments and prizes.
