In Italy, a tax code is an identification tool employed when dealing with public administrations. It is a 16-digit alphanumeric code: each letter and number encodes the user’s personal details (surname, name, gender, birthplace and date of birth).
This code is required in order to:
- register to the National Health System
- open a bank account
- rent a room/home
International students can request their tax code in one of the following ways:
- to the Italian diplomatic-consular mission in their country
- directly through Iuav (in this case, the University will send instructions on how to do it)
