From the moment of publication, applicants listed as Admitted in the ranking list must follow these steps from 4 to 9 September(13.00 CEST) 2026 on the Online Desk:

1. Pre-enrolment
   “Student services” > “Enrolment”
2. Payment of the pre-enrolment fee
   At the end of the pre-enrolment procedure, or from “Student services” > “Payments” (see also the complete fee structure and scholarship opportunities below)
3. Upload photo
   “Home” > “Photo”

Please note the pre-enrolment fee is refundable only for non-EU applicants only if their visa is denied by the diplomatic-consular mission. 
No other cases of refund will be considered.

Please note: the completion of the pre-enrolment and the payment of the pre-enrolment fee replaces the signing of the enrolment form for legal purposes.

Admission to the degree program in Urban and spatial design requires adequate initial preparation, developed through previous studies. Therefore, you will be required to take a mandatory but non-selective exam.

The exam will be held online during the week of October 12-16, 2026. 
The result does not preclude enrollment in the degree program.

It consists of a test consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions on the following topics:

• reading and interpretation skills in geographical and spatial contexts (12 questions);
• knowledge of history and general culture, with particular reference to the general history of the contemporary age, the history of the city, and urban planning (8 questions).

The following points will be awarded:

• 1 point for each correct answer
• 0 points for each unanswered question
• minus 0.25 points for each incorrect answer

The maximum time allowed is sixty minutes (one hour).

Additional Learning Requirement (OFA)  will be assigned to candidates on the ranking list who are eligible for enrollment and who do not achieve one or both the following results:

• 4 points for the topic "Ability to read and interpret geographical and spatial contexts";
• 2 points for the topic "Knowledge of history and general culture, with particular reference to the general history of the contemporary age, the history of the city, and urban planning".

If for any reason you fail to take the test, you will automatically be assigned the Additional Learning Requirement (OFA) and will have to pass a further specific test before taking the "Urban Planning Techniques and Theory" exam.
Anyone who fails to complete the additional learning requirements will be enrolled in the following academic year as a repeat student.

Candidates benefiting from Law No. 104/92: Special test procedures are guaranteed upon request. Specifically, candidates with dyslexia (pursuant to Law No. 170/2010) are granted 30% more time than the admission test schedule.

Applicants needing an entry visa for Italy must also pre-enroll on the Universitaly portal by 27 August 2026(“International students” > “Pre-enroll now”).

The application on Universitaly is examined by Iuav and, upon validation, sent to the diplomatic mission in charge. This serves the same purpose as an admission letter – which is not formally released – for visa.
