The Pioneer Alliance, of which Università Iuav di Venezia is a partner, was established under the European Commission's Erasmus+ European Universities initiative, which aims to strengthen strategic partnerships in higher education across the European Union.
Under the European Universities 2024 call, the European Commission awarded Pioneer a funding of 14 million Euros to implement the project's activities over a four-year period, starting from January 2025.
Within the framework of the Pioneer Alliance, of which the Università Iuav di Venezia has been a partner since January 2025, the establishment of an advisory body called the Pioneer Council is planned. The Council is tasked with providing opinions on matters related to student services, mobility and international education, and research activities with an impact on the European ecosystem.
Each university involved in the partnership is therefore required to appoint two staff members as Council representatives: one representing the academic staff and the other representing the technical-administrative staff.
Through a dedicated call for applications addressed to all academic and technical-administrative staff, the Università Iuav di Venezia aims to assess candidates’ qualifications in terms of skills, experience, and aptitude in relation to the areas on which the Council provides its opinions (student services, mobility and international education, research activities with an impact on the European ecosystem), as well as their alignment with the international scope of the Pioneer project.
