Università Iuav di Venezia continues to enhance its internationalization efforts and expand its engagement with global academic networks in the fields of architecture, urban planning, design, arts, and theatre.

Within this framework stand the results of the PNRR TNE project LEGO Italy–East Asia Cooperation: from Local Expertise to a Global Outlook, launched by the University to promote cooperation and exchange policies with higher education institutions in Japan, China, South Korea, and Taiwan.

Overall, the initiative recorded the following mobility flows:
– outgoing mobility: 12 Iuav students and 6 faculty members;
– incoming mobility: 11 students and 8 faculty members from partner institutions in East Asia.

Participation in WAVe 2026
The activities related to the project concluded during the 2026 edition of WAVe, the University's summer architecture workshop. The initiative was attended by 11 students from the College of Architecture, Myongji University (CAMU), accompanied by professor Kyeong Jae Lee.

The design workshop led by Lee, centered on the theme of Equilibrium, involved collaboration between Iuav and international students. Following the vote cast by approximately 2,000 participating students across the 16 workshops of the 2026 edition, the project proposal developed by the studio received the highest number of votes.

The outcome of the LEGO project confirms the value of international academic cooperation and the integration of teaching and mobility in higher education.
