Università Iuav di Venezia is consolidating its leading role on the international architectural scene. Dario Trabucco, associate professor of architectural technology at Università Iuav di Venezia, supported by International Mobility Office, has been selected by the National Erasmus+ Agency Indire to represent Italy at the Transnational Contact Activity (TCA) seminar entitled “The opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ programme to prepare tomorrow’s European architects”, held in Paris from 1 to 4 June 2026.

The event, organised by the French National Erasmus+ Agency, brought together leading figures from the European higher education sector to foster new partnerships (with a focus on integration between Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Europe, including the Balkans, Moldova and Ukraine) and to reflect on the transformations taking place in the sector and regarding climate change, the digital revolution and social transitions.

Four days of workshops and international networking: event details
The Paris programme consisted of intensive working sessions and co-design activities:

– day 1 (Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture Paris Malaquais): following the opening addresses and networking activities, best practices from previously funded projects were presented, supplemented by testimonials from international students involved in exchange programmes and dual degree schemes;

– day 2: focus on Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP). Participants took part in a practical simulation workshop on drafting a BIP application proposal;

– day 3 (Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris Belleville): dedicated to the KA220 scheme (Cooperation Partnerships). Working groups simulated the drafting of an application, which was then submitted for evaluation by reviewers from the French Erasmus+ agency;

– day 4: concluding session to summarise and present the results.

The scheduled one-to-one meetings proved to be of fundamental strategic importance, as they laid the foundations for new exchange protocols and strengthened existing scientific and educational ties.

Dario Trabucco’s profile combines a deep understanding of Erasmus dynamics (having been an exchange student in Paris in 2003 and currently serving as a tutor for Ecole Nationale Superieure d’Architecture de Strasbourg-Strasburg) with cutting-edge scientific expertise. An international expert in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Embodied Energy and Embodied Carbon, Trabucco also focuses on the impact of generative artificial intelligence and advanced robotics on the future of the profession.
