From September 21 to 25, 2026, Università Iuav di Venezia launched its orientation and welcoming week dedicated to new students enrolled in English-taught master's degree programmes and international mobility programmes. The programme combined institutional moments, open lectures, visits to university spaces, and informal networking opportunities.

The week was structured around two complementary events aimed at an increasingly international and diverse student community: from students enrolled in English-taught master's degrees, to those arriving in Venice through double-degree programmes with partner universities in China, France, and Chile, as well as many students welcomed through Erasmus+ and other international mobility programmes. 

At the heart of the week, on Wednesday, September 23, the Welcome Day took place in the aula magna at Tolentini, organised by the International Mobility Service. The event offered mobility students a practical introduction to university life in Venice: from the workings of the Italian academic system to presentations of university services — including the library, the Archivio Progetti, and laboratories —, as well as student associations such as the Student Senate and ESN Erasmus Student Network. There was also space dedicated to sports and the tradition of Venetian rowing, concluding the morning with a social gathering in the Tolentini cloister.

Meanwhile, the Onboarding and Planning Week, held from Monday to Friday at the Cotonificio venue, guided new English-taught Master's students through their academic paths with ten open lectures, meetings with programme coordinators, and dedicated sessions on Erasmus+, double degree, and traineeship mobility opportunities. The programme also included visits to the Cartoteca and the Archivio Progetti, presentations from student associations, and concluded on Friday with closing remarks and a presentation of the cultural project Utopian Hours. On Thursday evening, welcome drinks provided a first opportunity for informal socializing for the entire community.
