Rector Nataliya Shakhovska’s visit marks the launch of a strategic partnership focused on research, international mobility and educational innovation
On Monday 4 May, Università Iuav di Venezia welcomed the Rector of the Lviv National Polytechnic University, Nataliya Shakhovska, to mark the launch of a five-year strategic partnership.
Rector Shakhovska’s visit to Italy began with a key stop at Università Iuav di Venezia, where she met with staff from the International Mobility Office and the Doctoral School, as well as the director, Maria Chiara Tosi, before culminating in an official meeting with the Rector, Benno Albrecht.
The agreement, for which Jacopo Galli is the scientific lead, will run for five years and aims to strengthen a partnership based on the sharing of academic resources and excellence in research. Lviv Polytechnic National University, the oldest technical university in Eastern Europe with over 35,000 students and 110 departments, remains a leading partner, consistently ranking at the top of Ukrainian university rankings.
The agreement signed by the two rectors is structured around five main areas of focus:
– academic mobility: structured exchange programmes for staff and students;
– research and methodology: organisation of joint conferences, scientific seminars and workshops;
– scientific dissemination: systematic exchange of publications and research materials;
– culture: promotion of cultural events that integrate the identities of the two institutions;
– educational innovation: implementation of international projects and programmes in the fields of architecture, design and urban planning.
The meeting underscores Università Iuav di Venezia’s commitment to strengthening its international network, offering its academic community access to a network of cutting-edge teaching and research, and promoting the integration of the European university system.
