Students at Università Iuav di Venezia (including Erasmus students) can enrol in the courses offered each semester by the Venice International University (VIU), an international center for advanced education and research located on the island of San Servolo, and obtain credits for their academic curriculum.

VIU was founded in December 1995 by Università Iuav di Venezia and Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Duke University, and Tel Aviv University, with the support of the Province of Venice and the Carive Foundation.

VIU offers university-level courses (graduate, master’s, and PhD) and research activities resulting from the collaboration among its founding universities.

Courses are held in English and include subjects in economics and finance, sustainable development, organization and management, architectural and urban history, history of science, the arts, and conservation.

VIU is located on the island of San Servolo, right in front of the San Marco, in a historic complex recently restored by the Province of Venice.
