If the ISEE includes foreign income and assets, it is necessary to calculate the ISEE Parificato.
To obtain the ISEE Parificato, you will need to contact the new CAF CIA affiliated with Iuav through the online portal.

This mainly affects the families of foreign students – including EU students – and Italians living abroad, who must declare their income and assets both in Italy and in their home country. This economic and asset situation must be assessed in accordance with ISEEE regulations: the ISEE is calculated as the sum of income received abroad and 20% of assets held abroad, assessed in the same way and based on the average euro exchange rate for the reference year.

The economic and financial situation must be certified with specific documentation issued by the competent authorities of the country where the income was earned.
It has to be translated and legalized (if required) into Italian.
Students’ documents must be legalized in their country of origin by the Italian Embassy or Consulate.

Legalization is not necessary for the following countries:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Holland/The Netherlands, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey.

For those coming from particularly poor countries (DM 166, 03.03.2025), the assessment of economic status is made on the basis of a certificate from the Italian representation in the country of origin attesting that the student does not belong to a family known to have a high income and high social status. This certification may also be issued by the foreign university of enrolment, if linked by agreements or conventions with Italian universities or by Italian institutions authorized to provide financial coverage guarantees in accordance with the provisions in force, regarding the enrollment of foreign students in Italian universities.

Those who belong to countries not mentioned in the previous points must have the documents issued in their country of origin legalized through the Italian representation.

If you have been granted of a political refugee status or have a pending application, you are entitled to full exemption.
To claim this, you must submit your political asylum residence permit or your application for the political refugee status.
