Università Iuav di Venezia only accepts language certificates issued by certifying institutions recognized by the Italian Ministry of Public Education. 

Certifications older than 5 years will not be accepted.

The level of language skills acquired can also be certified by:

• submitting certificates issued by the University Language Centres;
• certification or self-declaration of passing exams taken as part of university courses (Italian and foreign) that explicitly refer to the CEFR and the level achieved in all areas covered by the framework;
• presentation of the original qualification or self-declaration relating to the achievement of a university qualification obtained at the end of a course of study held entirely in a foreign language;
• presentation of the original qualification or self-declaration relating to the possession of a four-year degree under the old system in the relevant foreign languages or a specialist or master's degree with at least 36 ECTS credits in the relevant foreign languages. (see Ministerial Decree 62, Article 4)

Self-declared information is subject to verification and is only valid upon receipt of confirmation of its accuracy.

All applicants to bachelor’s degree needing a visa must provide an Italian language certificate of at least a B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Accepted certifications are those issued as part of the CLIQ quality system(Certificazione Lingua Italiana di Qualità), specifically by:

• Università per Stranieri di Perugia
• Università per Stranieri di Siena
• Università Roma Tre
• Società “Dante Alighieri”
• Università per Stranieri Dante Alighieri di Reggio Calabria
• Italian Cultural Institutes abroad, or other accredited institutions (CELI, PLIDA etc.)
