LALIMED aims to strengthen the skills required for sustainable management of Mediterranean coastal zones under the increasing pressures of climate change, with a specific focus on lagoon
environments.
Over 36 months, with a total budget of €400,000, the project develops innovative educational approaches through a cross-perspective methodology involving students, academics, and
professionals.

Key objectives 

• Develop innovative teaching methods based on the exchange between disciplines, regions, and communities.
   
• Create new training materials and workshops across three case-study sites (France, Italy, Morocco), each studied in depth for one year.
   
• Produce shared intellectual outputs, including training booklets and a digital Mediterranean Lagoon Atlas.
   
• Disseminate results through a dedicated web platform, professional seminars, and public exhibitions.
• Combine academic education (mainly at Master’s level) with vocational education and training (VET), promoting multidisciplinary and international collaboration.
   

Building on the experience of MELIMED (2020–2023), LALIMED brings together experienced and newly involved partners - universities, research bodies, and SMEs - working to safeguard and
enhance Mediterranean lagoon landscapes.

The international Lalimed workshop “Nador Lagoon in Transition” offers a learning experience dedicated to exploring the coastal territory of the Nador Lagoon (Morocco) through the perspective of spatial transformations. The programme includes theoretical contributions, field visits, and collaborative activities aimed at observing, representing, and interpreting the urban, ecological, and social transformations of the lagoon territory. Applications will be assessed on the basis of a motivation letter. An additional score will be awarded to students enrolled in the first year of the Master’s Degree Programme in Architecture, as the workshop is also conceived as a field visit within the Sustainable Urban Design & Performance course.
