This joint master's degree is the result of a specific research project. It is aimed at training highly qualified and specialized professional figures capable of intervening with multidisciplinary skills in the design, development, and monitoring of initiatives and strategies related to the world of renewable energy and ecological transition, assuming direct responsibility for research projects and structures.

The objectives of the educational activities provided for master's students are oriented towards:

• providing an in-depth cultural preparation focused on sustainable energy, decarbonization and, in general, the contact points between energy and the environment, as well as a good mastery of the scientific method, also with a view to potential access to PhD courses;
• developing the ability to identify and organize the interactions of various factors involved in complex environmental processes, systems, and problems;
• training graduating students in different investigation methodologies for the study and control of complex technical and environmental situations and for design;
• providing the knowledge to evaluate renewable energy resources and formulate hypotheses for management, spatial planning, and environmental conservation, also integrating environmental issues with regulatory systems and economic logic.

Course aims and career opportunities in the relevant professional sector 
The general objective of the ADRION Program is to act as a policy driver and governance innovator to promote European integration between Partner States, taking advantage of the rich natural, cultural, and human resources surrounding the Adriatic and Ionian Seas and strengthening economic, social, and territorial cohesion in the Program area. Students graduating through the master's degree will have access to job opportunities in both the private and public sectors, including, but not limited to, the following activities:

• analysis and management of renewable resources, the environment, environmental systems, and the territory;
• development of technological systems for the production and distribution of renewable energy; management and optimization of renewable energy hubs and systems and energy demand modeling;
• assessment of energy sustainability and implicit environmental quality;
• planning of activities, plans, and policies for sustainable energy development and ecological transition;
• promotion and coordination of initiatives to guide integrated energy and environmental policies and to contribute to the formation of a critical and proactive consensus among citizens on solving problems posed by the territory;
• design and management of environmental remediation, monitoring, and control measures promoted by public administration, production systems, and private entities;
• implementation and evaluation of environmental impact studies, strategic and environmental risk assessments, as well as safety measures and related activities (with particular focus on climate neutrality actions);
• dissemination of an environmental culture through education and outreach activities.
