Municipality of Venice is composed of the lagoon area and the mainland area.
In Venice city buses arrive at Piazzale Roma, trains arrive at Venezia Santa Lucia railway station, and buses from other cities arrive at Tronchetto island. At each spot you will find a waterbus stop (la fermata di vaporetto).
The least expensive way to get from an airport to Venice or to Mestre is by taking a public bus.
You can buy tickets by the exit from the airport in a vending machine.
Please note that the airports are not connected 24/7 neither to Venice, nor to Mestre: they are closed at night and there is no way to reach them with public transport between 1:10 and 4:08, only with a taxi which costs a lot and may be unavailable, so please check the timetables.

From other airports you can reach Venice by train (Venezia Mestre train station or Venezia Santa Lucia train station) or by bus with a private bus company.

The Venice Access Fee is applied for certain periods of time to the historic city centre of Venice.
Students (including commuters) enrolled in schools/universities/postgraduate institutions located in the historic center or islands are exempt from payment, but must show a document confirming their status upon request of the authorities.
The following groups are also exempt from acquiring a digital voucher:
residents in the Municipality of Venice
people born in the Municipality of Venice
minors up to the age of 14.
