To consider all available opportunities for long-term accommodation, we recommend finding a temporary option (hotel, hostel, etc.) for a few days or weeks. Usually, you can book it, come to Italy, and look for long-term accommodation upon your arrival. However, if you need a visa, you may have to show a long-term contract or a letter of hospitality (lettera di ospitalità) before departure at the Italian consulate in your country. Please consult the consulate in advance regarding this matter.

If you are looking for a room or an apartment to share, you can:

• Check dedicated housing websites. If you have trouble finding them, contact us at housing@iuav.it.
• Try Facebook groups and Telegram chats to get in touch with other interested students.
• Once you arrive in Venice, browse the housing notices on the notice boards at the Iuav locations in Tolentini and Cotonificio.

When searching for private accommodation, start by defining the aspects that are most important to you.

We advise everyone looking for accommodation to start their search not necessarily in the historic centre of Venice but in the mainland, in Mestre, Marghera and nearby towns, where costs are lower and there are still well-connected public transport links.
