In 2025 the Italian Conference of Rectors (CRUI), with the cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Universities and Research and the Consulate General of Italy in Jerusalem, launched the IUPALS initiative.

The initiative was aimed at

• Supporting Palestinian students residing in the Palestinian Territories in studying at Italian universities, through dedicated scholarships;
• Strengthening cooperation between Italian universities, Palestinian educational institutions, and other local stakeholders (both in Italy and in the Palestinian Territories), in order to promote internationalization and foster the processes of cultural integration.

In the frame of the IUPALS project, Iuav offered 2 scholarships worth 7.000,00 each for one academic year to candidates residing in the Palestinian Territories to attend 

• the bachelor’s degree program in  Urbanistica e pianificazione del territorio;
• the English taught master’s degree program in Urban and Spatial Planning for Transition.

The program also featured a  preparatory course in Italian language and culture offered by CRUI, designed to support students before academic enrollment at the end of which the participants acquired an attendance certificate (70% of attendance required).

To apply for the IUPALS scholarship, candidates were required to:

1. read carefully the call for applications;
2. fill out the application form (inserire modulo google) by June 6, 2025 at 12 pm (UTC+2)

Candidates were notified via email and the results were published on this page.
