Asylum seekers are equated to EU and EU-equated applicants.
Once obtained the stay permit as refugees, asylum seekers can regularly apply to Iuav study programmes following the provisions described in the calls for applications. If they pass the relevant admission tests, they can enrol without further administrative requirements while waiting for the necessary documentation to be sent from their country of origin.

Refugee applicants, once they have been granted international protection, are provided with a residence permit, with different features depending on the type of status granted.

Refugee applicants who have documentary evidence of their qualifications (diploma, transcript of records etc.) are equated to EU and EU-equated applicants. Therefore, they can apply to Iuav study programmes by following the procedures described in the relevant calls for applications.

Refugee applicants who do not have documentary evidence of their qualifications (diploma, transcript of records etc.) are required to contact Gianluca Zucconelli (orientation and promotion office study@iuav.it) to submit the documents in their possession (if any).

Their previous study track is evaluated by a committee in order to be recognized, regardless of their compliance with administrative regulations.
Universities are in charge of the recognition of refugees’ qualification as per law n. 148 of 11 July 2002, which ratifies section VII of the Lisbon Convention.
Once either the necessary documents or the evaluation mentioned above are< available, refugee applicants can apply to Iuav study programmes by following the procedures described in the relevant calls for applications.
