The workshop aims to explore the interaction between humans, animals, healing waters and landscapes across an extended time span, from antiquity to the present day. It adopts a perspective that places at the centre the ecosystemic relationship between humans, the natural environment and animals, viewed through the lenses of archaeology, religion, history, anthropology and architecture, with concluding reflections on the bioethical frontiers that such an ecosystem may foreshadow.
