If you intend to interrupt your studies, you must not renew your enrolment (i.e. pay the first instalment of tuition fees).
Interruption status will not be granted for academic years in which you have already paid the first instalment.
An interruption of studies cannot exceed eight academic years.
If you still have outstanding examinations, you must resume your enrolment by the eighth year and sit at least one exam (even if the outcome is negative); otherwise, your student status will lapse, and you will not be able to continue your university studies.
In case you only have the final exam/thesis defence left to complete, the interruption may last longer than 8 academic years, provided it complies with the deadline terms established by the university regulations on status forfeiture.
The interruption period:
You cannot carry out any academic or administrative procedures during the interruption of studies.
You will pay a reduced university fee (155.00 euros) for each academic year of interruption.
If, at the time of interruption, you have not completed all the required course years, you will resume your studies by enrolling in the subsequent year of the programme. If new degree regulations have been introduced in the meantime, you must transfer to the active curriculum in accordance with the academic regulations of your degree course.
The request for a fee position check must be sent by email to studenti.triennale@iuav.it or studenti.magistrale@iuav.it when you decide to resume your studies.
The office can inform you of the number and specific academic years for which you can apply for interruption, and notify you of any outstanding payments from previous academic years.
To resume your studies, you must submit the application form for the interruption fee, duly completed in the original hard copy (also sent by registered post), to:

Please note that submissions sent by Certified Email (PEC) will not be accepted as valid.
If your application is approved, the Student Career Management Office will generate the PagoPA payment notices for the interruption years and the academic year of resumption. You can then view and download these payments to be settled from your private area on the SPIN portal.
Please note that you cannot use any postal paying-in slips received previously to pay outstanding fees.
