“Stand Out in the Job Market: Thought Leadership and Professional Identity” - Strategies for Personal Branding and International Opportunities with PIONEER Alliance, Mila Kajas (Laurea University, Helsinki)
November 11, 2026
2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m., Terese – Room 0.4
Mila Kajas is a Finnish communications leader and Head of Communications at Laurea University of Applied Sciences.
Why do some experts succeed in building strong influence while others remain invisible, even when their expertise is at the same level?
Thought leadership is not built on visibility alone. It is founded on trust, consistency, and the ability to bring fresh perspectives to the conversation. At the same time, it is a long-term process of personal brand building: an expert’s reputation is shaped by what they are known for, the value they create, and how consistently they contribute to discussions within their field.
This presentation explores how experts can increase their influence and strengthen their personal brand by creating genuine value, without resorting to artificial self-promotion or excessive marketing. It provides practical examples of how credibility is built, how social media can be used strategically, and how professionals can steadily establish themselves as trusted voices in their respective fields over time.
Admission to the workshop is limited to 25 students. Registration is required by Friday, November 6, using the form on the side.
