At NAAD on February 6th, Sarah Robinson (architect,
writer, and educator) coordinates the TEC Test Experiments Classes. Inspired by the Tactile workshops held by Johannes
Itten and Lázló Moholy-Nagy at the Bauhaus, this Sensory Awareness Workshop
held at IUAV's ARTEC, will introduce the historic and intellectual background
of this type of experiential method and provide an opportunity for students
to explore the tactile, thermal, olfactory, sonic, kinesthetic, emotional and
structural qualities of materials. Experiencing
materials beyond the visual sense will enrich our understanding of how
sensory perception is interrelated, and open new possibilities for the way
materials can be used, modified, assembled and applied to create a more
engaging and humane environment. |
