La call for papers and photos Rileggere Samoną
č promossa dal Dipartimento di Architettura dell’Universitą degli Studi
Roma Tre e dall’Universitą Iuav di Venezia e intende proseguire il ciclo
di eventi organizzati con l’Archivio Progetti Iuav – due mostre e
una giornata di studi tenutesi nella primavera del 2018 a Venezia presso la
sede del rettorato ai Tolentini – dedicati a Giuseppe Samoną (1898-1983),
uno degli architetti pił noti e influenti del Novecento italiano.
Attivo come progettista, teorico e didatta, Samoną č
stato direttore e rifondatore dell’Istituto Universitario di Architettura
di Venezia (IUAV) dal 1945 al 1972 e senatore della Repubblica dal 1972 al
1976.
Le due mostre hanno riguardato l’opera di
Samoną in un periodo dell’architettura italiana particolarmente ricco di
occasioni progettuali e significativamente connesso alla grande crescita
economica del paese nel secondo dopoguerra: Per
la cittą pubblica. Progetti 1949-83, a cura di Giovanni Longobardi e
Giovanni Marras con Stefano Balzanetti e Laura Pujia, ha esposto una selezione
di schizzi, disegni, modelli, taccuini e pubblicazioni; La vita delle opere, a cura di Angelo Maggi, ha dedicato attenzione
alle architetture costruite, attraverso lo sguardo di alcuni fotografi.
La call si colloca sulla scia di questi
approfondimenti e intende ampliare il dibattito scientifico di rilettura del
lavoro di Giuseppe Samoną e del suo studio con il figlio Alberto, raccogliendo
contributi originali di carattere teorico, storico-critico, letture di
progetti, documentazioni fotografiche delle opere.
I materiali pervenuti saranno selezionati tramite
peer-review e gli esiti saranno pubblicati nella collana Patrimonio culturale e
territorio del Dipartimento di Architettura dell’Universitą di Roma Tre
edita da Roma TrE-Press.
Il libro sarą digitale e dotato del numero
internazionale ISBN; sarą reso disponibile automaticamente attraverso i pił
usati motori di ricerca e quindi immediatamente comunicati alle biblioteche
universitarie pił importanti. Roma TrE-Press inoltre ha attivato anche un
servizio esterno che consenta la stampa su richiesta (print on demand) di
singole copie dei libri.

Call for papers and photos
The call for papers and photos ‘Rileggere Samoną’ ('Re-reading Samoną'), sponsored by the Dipartimento di Architettura of the Universitą degli Studi Roma Tre and Universitą Iuav di Venezia, thereby continuing the cycle of events organized together with the Iuav Archivio Progetti – two exhibitions and a day of presentations held at the headquarters of the Rectorate in Tolentini in the spring of 2018 in Venice - dedicated to Giuseppe Samoną (1898-1983), one of the most famous and influential Italian architects of the twentieth century. Samoną was a designer, theorist and teacher, he was director and re-founder of the Universitą Iuav di Venezia from 1945 to 1972 and a senator of the Republic from 1972 to 1976.
The two exhibitions covered Samoną's work in a particularly rich period of opportunities for planning and design in Italian architecture and significantly linked to the great economic growth of the country after World War II: Per la cittą pubblica. Progetti 1949-83 (For the Public City. Projects 1949-83), curated by Giovanni Longobardi and Giovanni Marras with Stefano Balzanetti and Laura Pujia, and presented a selection of sketches, drawings, models, notebooks and publications; La vita delle opere (The life of the Works) edited by Angelo Maggi, focused on the constructed architecture, through the gaze of photographers.
The call follows in the wake of these in-depth studies and proposes to broaden the scientific debate in re-reading of Giuseppe Samoną and his studio shared with his son Alberto, by gathering original contributions of theoretical or historical-critical character, readings of projects, and photographic documentation of the works.
The submitted material will be selected via a peer-review and the results will be published in the series Patrimonio culturale e territorio of the Dipartimento di Architettura of the Universitą degli Studi Roma Tre published by Roma TrE-Press.
It will be a digital publication with an assigned ISBN number; it will be available automatically on the most popular search engines and immediately conveyed to the most prestigious university libraries.
Roma TrE-Press. Furthermore Roma TrE-Press has an external service that allows print on demand of individual copies of the book.
