Ha quindi partecipato in qualità di ricercatore post-doc al progetto europeo Horizon 2020 no.643636 "Sound of Vision–Natural sense of vision through acoustics and haptics" alla University of Iceland (Islanda, 2015-2017).

IT'S A DIVE - Individual Three-dimensional Spatial Auditory Displays for Immersive Virtual Environments".

È inoltre senior member dell’Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Simone Spagnol received a master’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Padova, Italy, in 2008 and a PhD in information engineering from the same university in 2012.

Between 2012 and 2015, he has been a research fellow at Università Iuav di Venezia and the University of Padova, Italy, developing research in binaural technologies and sonic interaction design.

Then, he took part in the Horizon 2020 European project no.643636 "Sound of Vision–Natural sense of vision through acoustics and haptics" as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Iceland (Iceland, 2015-2017).

He held a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship at Aalborg University (Denmark, 2019-2020) within the Horizon 2020 European project no.797850 "IT'S A DIVE - Individual Three-dimensional Spatial Auditory Displays for Immersive Virtual Environments".

Throughout 2021 he has been carrying out his research activity at Delft University of Technology (the Netherlands) in the context of acoustic signal recognition in socio-technological environments.

He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications in international journals and conference proceedings. He has chaired the Scientific Committee of the International Sound and Music Computing Conference in 2020 and 2021. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Since 2022 he has been a researcher (type B) at Università Iuav di Venezia.
