Massimiliano Scarpa is a Mechanical Engineer and PhD in Energetics. He performed research activities at the University of Padova (Department of Applied Physics), EMPA (Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology, Zuerich - Switzerland) and at the Danish Technical University (DTU, Lyngby - Copenhagen - Denmark). Currently, he is Assistant Professor at Università Iuav di Venezia. His research activity covers the topic of energy efficiency in buildings from many perspectives, from the development of building energy simulation models and programs to the development of standards about building energy performance assessment, from building energy performance simulation by means of acknowledged software (such as EnergyPlus and TRNSYS) to indoor environment monitoring for the assessment of comfort, indoor air quality and artworks preservation conditions.
