Angela Mengoni è professoressa associata di semiotica presso l’Università Iuav di Venezia.

Dopo il dottorato in semiotica presso l’Università di Siena è stata post-doctoral fellow al Centre for Philosophy of Culture dell’Università di Lovanio KUL (2007), poi assegnista di ricerca all’Università di Siena e, dal 2009 al 2012, senior researcher presso Eikones, centro di ricerca NFS dell’Università di Basilea su "Iconic Criticism. Power and meaning of images". È stata fellow del Daad – Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst presso SKD di Dresda (2019) e coordinatrice italiana del progetto di ricerca trilaterale del Centro Italo-tedesco Villa Vigoni “Concetti in viaggio. Per una cartografia terminologica nella teoria dell’arte” (2020-2022). Fa parte del comitato scientifico delle riviste Carte Semiotiche, Visual Culture Studies, Visual Ethnography e Vesper. Journal of Architecture, Arts & Theory.

 

 

Angela Mengoni is associate professor of visual semiotics at Università Iuav di Venezia.

After her PhD in semiotics at the University of Siena, she was a post-doctoral fellow at the Centre for Philosophy of Culture at the University of Leuven KUL (2007), then a research fellow at the University of Siena and, from 2009 to 2012, senior researcher at Eikones, the national research centre of the University of Basel on "Iconic Criticism. Power and meaning of images". She was a fellow of Daad - Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst at SKD in Dresden (2019) and the Italian coordinator of the trilateral research project "Travelling Concepts. For a terminological cartography in art theory" at the German-Italian Center Vila Vigoni (2020-2022). She is a member of the scientific board of the journals Carte Semiotiche, Visual Culture Studies, Visual Ethnography and Vesper. Journal of Architecture, Arts & Theory.
