Marta De Marchi si è formata all'Università Iuav di Venezia. La sua formazione integra le competenze dell’architettura, del paesaggio e dell'urbanistica, che sono alla base del suo approccio di lavoro al progetto e alla ricerca. Principale interesse di ricerca è l'interazione tra il territorio e i sistemi del cibo, con particolare attenzione ai risvolti spaziali di questa interrelazione.

La sua metodologia di ricerca include un approccio di research-by-design che si esplicita nell’indagine della trasformazione spaziale della città e del territorio, immaginata e interpretata attraverso lo strumento dello scenario.

Dal 2012 è membro del collettivo Latitude, una organizzazione no-profit italo-belga che riunisce studiosi, ricercatori e progettisti, impegnati in ricerca e progetto, l'uno inteso come terreno di verifica dell’altro.

Dopo il dottorato in Urbanistica, conseguito nella primavera del 2018, è stata assegnista di ricerca all’Università Iuav di Venezia nel progetto Interreg Italia-Croazia "CREW-Coordinated wetland management in Italy-Croatia cross-border region", incentrato sullo sviluppo di processi partecipativi finalizzati alla stipula di Contratti di Area Umida.

Attualmente, è impegnata nel progetto Horizon 2020 "Cities2030 - co-creating resilient and sustainable food systems towards Food2030" che propone la metodologia dei Living Lab per sviluppare innovazioni di processo e di politiche nel sistema cibo della laguna di Venezia.

Marta De Marchi trained at Università Iuav di Venezia. Her training integrates the skills of architecture, landscape and urban planning, which form the basis of her working approach to design and research. Her main research interest is the interaction between land and food systems, with a focus on the spatial implications of this interrelation.

Her research methodology includes a research-by-design approach that is expressed in the investigation of the spatial transformation of the city and the territory, imagined and interpreted through the tool of the scenario.

Since 2012, she has been a member of the Latitude collective, an Italo-Belgian non-profit organisation that brings together scholars, researchers and designers engaged in research and design, the one intended as a testing ground for the other.

After her doctorate in Urban Planning, which she obtained in the spring 2018, she was a research fellow at the Università Iuav di Venezia in the Interreg Italy-Croatia project "CREW-Coordinated wetland management in Italy-Croatia cross-border region", focused on the development of participatory processes aimed at constructing Wetland Contracts.

Currently, she is involved in the Horizon 2020 project "Cities2030 - co-creating resilient and sustainable food systems towards Food2030", which proposes the Living Lab methodology to develop process and policy innovations in the food system of the Venice Lagoon.
