Fabio D'Agnano è direttore del master MADI (Architettura Digitale) presso l’Università Iuav di Venezia ed è professore associato presso il CFPR Centre for Prints Research della University of West of England, UWE, Bristol.

I filoni principali della sua ricerca sono la fabbricazione digitale, modellazione e rendering, intelligenza artificiale e la robotica per l'arte, il design e l'architettura.

Ha insegnato per più di dieci anni (2009-2023) all'Università Iuav di Venezia, concentrandosi sulla modellazione 3D, sulla stampa 3D approfondita e sulla prototipazione elettronica.

Nel 2011 ha fondato il master post-laurea in Architettura Digitale, che prepara in modo approfondito gli studenti all'uso di strumenti digitali, immagini di rendering e video digitali; i suoi laureati lavorano in aziende e progetti all'avanguardia nel campo del design 3D in tutto il mondo.

È stato co-curatore della sezione educazione della Rome Maker Faire nella seconda, terza e quarta edizione, selezionando centinaia di progetti innovativi.

Particolarmente interessato ai nuovi metodi di insegnamento, è stato consulente del Ministero dell'Istruzione italiano nel campo della fabbricazione digitale nell'istruzione superiore, utilizzando il metodo del Design Thinking.

È stato parte del comitato tecnico per l'innovazione dell'Ordine Architetti di Milano e direttore dello studio Glass Architettura Urbanistica di Venezia.

 

 

Fabio D'Agnano is the director of MADI postrgraduata specialisation programme  at Università Iuav di Venezia, and he is an associate professor at the CFPR Centre for Prints Research at the University of West of England, UWE, Bristol.

The main strands of his research are digital and smart manufacturing, artificial intelligence & robotics for Art.

He taught for more than ten years (2009-2021) at the Iuav Architecture University of Venice, focusing on 3D modeling, deepened 3D printing and electronic prototyping.

In 2011, he founded the postgraduate specialisation programme in Digital Architecture, which thoroughly prepares its students in the domain of digital tools, rendering images and digital videos, with its graduates going on to work in companies and on projects at the forefront of 3D design all over the world.

In addition to his experience in design and 3D modeling, he has experience in design, electronic prototyping, 3D printing, coding and digital craftsmanship – both in practice and teaching.

He was the co-curator of the education section of the Rome Maker Faire in the second, third and fourth editions, selecting hundreds of innovative projects.

He is particularly interested in new teaching methods and served as a consultant to the Italian Ministry of Education in the field of digital manufacturing in higher education, using the Design Thinking method.
