Undergraduate and graduate programmes offered by the University iuav of Venice:

Venice Foresees Planet / New European Bauhaus Tuesdays

Venice today is a measure of the problems and a model for the solutions towards the construction of a global future capable of combining sustainability and beauty. The lagoon city exists only thanks to strenuous interventions and strategic planning, continuous care and administrative courage. This condition of permanent risk now applies to the whole planet, which is experiencing the first effects of a climate and environmental crisis that will radically alter lifestyles and social models.

Venice today is called to innovate once again in order not to sink, to carry out its historical function of a microcosm, a physical space where problems and solutions with a global scale and a broad timeframe are concentrated “here and now”. The lagoon is the testing ground for radically experiments of solutions for the entire planet.

The New European Bauhaus project aims to build a path for the necessary ecological transition by making the slogan Form Follows Planet effective.

Venice has always been a model in which the topics of social inclusion and environmental impact unite in projects that, on a smaller scale, prefigure and foresee global modifications: Venice Foresees Planet.

The New Europea Bauhaus is an extraordinary opportunity for Venice to become the setting for a global debate on design methods and systems that can combine sustainability and beauty. Venice as a lighthouse of the New Bauhaus gives society back its central role as a subject that inhabits this fragile environment.

UniversitÓ Iuav di Venezia has launched the New European Bauhaus Venezia website to collect ideas and reflections for the design phase of the New European Bauhaus initiative. To participate, log onto the website and submit your postcard by answering a short questionnaire.

Moreover, Venice Foresees Planet / NEB Tuesdays conference series brings together scholars and experts to discuss with Iuav community the possible applications of innovative ideas in the lagoon within the New European Bauhaus project.
