The Universitą Iuav di Venezia does not provide student housing. For the academic year 2010/2011, the ESU of Venice has reserved 50 places for students participating in international mobility programmes at Venetian universities. There are 6 singles rooms and 22 doubles. Rooms are assigned on a first come first serve basis. The ESU also provides useful information on alternative accomodation in Venice (rentals, etc.) available through other organisations working in the real estate market.

health services

The new European Health Insurance Card is a benefit to European citizens who residency temporarily in another member state. The Card gives access to immediate necessary care under the same conditions as nationals of that country. It will replace the paper forms currently in use, such as the E111 for short stays or holidays, or the E128 for study. Students from EU countries should request the Health Insurance Card from their local health authorities. They should note that this Card is being introduced progressively in different countries and that they may still be issued an E111 or E128 under the previous system.

Non-EU citizens are required to take out private health insurance before leaving their home country and to obtain a consular declaration regarding its validity in Italy.

opening a bank account

International students wishing to open a bank account in Italy or buy an Italian mobile phone card must possess a tax code number (codice fiscale).
