The Graduate Degree Programme in Innovation in Architecture aims at forming a European professional architect equipped with a sound cultural background — both in liberal arts and on a technical-scientific levelneeded to tackle the complexity of contemporary architectural design. The themes that the design programme develops therefore deal with the emerging architectural, urban, and environmental issues of the European and international scene; and will be tackled considering the most updated and innovative methods and techniques.

The programme aims to meet the increasing national and European request for professional skills needed to suitably manage the complex process of design, from the viewpoint of energy, environment, but also cultural and social sustainability, as well as of financial feasibility. The classes and activities provided by the programme form a study plan that is balanced and articulated in all disciplines, providing an advanced overview of architectural design as a tool of exploration and application of a number of disciplines that contribute to its definition.

Professional profile

Graduates from the Degree Programme in Innovation in Architecture will be qualified to perform any activity as a freelance architect in Europe, and hold positions of high responsibility in public and private institutions and bodies (national and European institutions, public and private bodies and companies, professional studios and design companies, public and private research facilities) operating in the field of construction, transformation of the territory, recovery and reuse of the consolidated city, and available techniques and technologies.

In order to work as freelancer on a self-employed basis, graduates must take a Professional Licensing Examination. Upon passing, they may enrol in the professional register of Architects, Planners, Landscape Designers, and Curators/Section A. Graduates will then be qualified to work in the following regulated professions: architect, professional agronomist and forester, landscape designer, and regional planner.
