Presentation
University of Nova Gorica and Universitą Iuav di Venezia jointly established in 2004 the postgraduate program in Economics and Techniques for the Conservation of the Architectural and Environmental Heritage, ETCAEH.
The ETCAEH program investigates the relationship among economics, management and techniques for heritage preservation, management and planning by approaching the complexity of bonds and disciplinary emancipations that emerge from the intertwine of different involved scientific field and research perspectives.
The courses of the program, carried out in Venice, in the proximity of a challenging protection and management reality, are given by international experts and professors from different international universities and institutions, merging theoretical achievements and case studies analyses, through an inter – and trans – disciplinary approach.
Description
of specializations
The first year of the program includes three educational periods:
> the 1st period (12 ECTS) is compulsory for the two specializations and focuses on theoretic-methodological issues and the knowledge of architectural and environmental heritage;
> the 2nd period (28 ECTS) is divided into two specialisations:
- Techniques and Materials in Conservation of the Architectural Heritage
- Management and Economics of Cultural Heritage;
> the 3rd period (20 ECTS) includes thesis elaboration, tutoring and internship (if requested).
The 2nd level Master, which requires total attendance of courses, assigns 60 ECTS; the Doctoral Program assigns 180 ECTS.
Students that successfully accomplish the master may be admitted to the Ph.D., with a consequent recognition of 60 ECTS: in this case the Ph.D. can be obtained in the following 2 years.
The 2nd level Master is jointly issued by Universitą Iuav di Venezia and University of Nova Gorica.
The Ph.D. is issued by the University of Nova Gorica.
