ARCLIB 2005: Articulating Architecture....
ARCLIB is
the Ireland/UK Architecture Librarians Group. Our main activity is to organise
an annual conference, which this year is to be held on July 13th-15th in
University College Dublin.
This is the
first time that the ARCLIB Conference has been held outside of the UK and we
are hoping to make it special.
Various
themes will be explored including changing architecture curricula; articulating
changing roles in the areas of information skills and marketing; digitising and
imaging projects....and MUCH MORE!
Speakers
will include Shane O Toole, Architect and Critic. Shane writes for the Sunday
Times (amongst other things) - have a look at his Website at www.irish-
architecture.com/tesserae. Jacqui Weetman and Hinda Skar, ARCLIB members will
be speaking about information literacy and slides digitisation. There will be
speakers from GOOGLE (European HQ is in Dublin). Marysia Henty, Communications
& Marketing Manager in the London School of Economics & former Marketing
Manager of the Royal Institute of British Architects will be talking about
marketing libraries. Have a look at the full Programme on the ARCLIB website.
No ARCLIB
Conference would be complete without its receptions and visits and this year
will be no exception.....for example, we have organised a reception in the
Irish Architectural Archive, trips to hidden Georgian jewels, meals in renowned
Dublin bistros....
