Le Corbusier and the
Modern Movement, domestic space and adaptive reuse of the XX century built
heritage, new trends for museum and hotel design, architecture and cities of
the Middle East
Tiziano Aglieri
Rinella, architect, Ph.D., is senior researcher in Interior Architecture at the
Università Iuav di Venezia. Qualified the rank of Associate Professor in
Architectural Design by the Italian Ministry of University and Research, he has
been Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Interior Design at
American University in the Emirates (Dubai) till academic year 2019/2020,
assistant professor of Architecture and Interior Design at Al Ghurair
University in Dubai (2015-2018) and researcher at the Faculty of Arts of IULM
University in Milan (2009-2015). Scholarship holder of Le Corbusier Foundation
in Paris (2002), he has worked on Le Corbusier and on the heritage of the
Modern Movement in architecture. He collaborated with UNESCO, as consultant for
museum projects in the middle east. Author of more than 80 publications, he is
a frequent speaker at international conferences and was awarded the Donghia
Distinguished Lecturer Grant in 2013 by Rhode Island School of Design. His
research interests concern different research topics in the field of
architecture and interior design. Among them: Le Corbusier and the Modern
Movement, adaptive reuse of the XX century built heritage and new trends for
museum and hotel design. In recent years, he has also been concerned with
Modern heritage in the Gulf region and desert architecture. He has been guest
lecturer at GSAPP, Columbia University, at the Rhode Island School of Design,
at UFRGS in Porto Alegre, adjunct professor of Hotel Design at the
International University of Bad Honnef – Bonn (IUBH) and has taught in
master classes at Poli.Design, NABA and SPD in Milan.
