Elisa Bizzotto, dottore di ricerca in Anglistica (UniversitÓ di Firenze 2001), Ŕ stata titolare di un assegno di ricerca all’UniversitÓ Ca' Foscari Venezia (2002-4). Dal 2003 al 2010 ha insegnato nelle UniversitÓ di Trento e Ca' Foscari. Dal 2009 al 2016 Ŕ stata ricercatrice di Letteratura inglese all’UniversitÓ Iuav di Venezia, dove ora Ŕ professore associato. Si occupa di Vittorianesimo, Estetismo, Decadentismo e primo Novecento. Privilegia approcci interartistici e transculturali, riflessioni sui generi letterari, la ricezione della letteratura inglese e irlandese in Italia e la mitografia. Ha partecipato al gruppo di ricerca The Reception of British and Irish Authors in Europe. ╚ stata invitata a conferenze e convegni internazionali (Oxford, UCLA Los Angeles, University College London, Rutgers Univ., Paris-Sorbonne) e ha partecipato al comitato scientifico di convegni in Italia e all’estero. Collabora alla traduzione del teatro di G.B. Shaw per Giunti-Bompiani. ╚ membro di AIA (Associazione Italiana Anglistica), ESSE (European Society Study of English), ANDA (Associazione Italiana Docenti Anglistica), BADS (British Association of Decadent Studies); Ŕ socio fondatore della Italian Wilde Society e Officer della International Pater Society. Fa parte del CUSVE (Centro Studi Vittoriani-Edoardiani) e del Collegio del Dottorato in Storia delle Arti (Ca' Foscari-Iuav). Partecipa al comitato editoriale delle riviste Studies in Walter Pater and Aestheticism, VoluptÚ, English Literature e Journal of Comparative Studies.

 

 

Elisa Bizzotto holds a PhD in English Studies (University of Florence 2001) and is Associate Professor of English Literature at Iuav University of Venice. In 2002 she obtained research funding for a project on European Decadence at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and between 2004 and 2010 taught at the Universities of Trento and Ca’ Foscari. She became Lecturer in English Literature at Iuav University of Venice in 2009 and in 2016 was appointed as Associate Professor. She works on Victorian and pre-Modernist literature and her interests are in genre, gender, mythography and intermediality. She specialises in Aestheticism, Decadence and Anglo-Italian cultural intersections. She was part of the Reception of British and Irish Authors in Europe network and is currently translating two of G.B. Shaw’s plays for the publisher Giunti-Bompiani. She was a member of the scientific committee of international conferences and has been invited to lecture in Europe and North America. She is a member of AIA (Italian Association English Studies), ANDA (Italian Association Teachers of English), BADS (British Association for Decadent Studies), CUSVE (Centre for Victorian-Edwardian Studies) and ESSE (European Society Study of English). She was appointed Officer of the International Pater Society in 2018 and is a founder of the Italian Wilde Society. She is a member of the Council of the PhD in History of the Arts (Ca’ Foscari-Iuav) and of the Editorial Boards of Studies in Walter Pater and Aestheticism, VoluptÚ, English Literature, and Journal of Comparative Studies.
